About Porous Carbon
Porous carbon is porous carbon with adjusted fluid permeability.
Because it is made of carbon, it has chemical resistance, antistatic properties, and moderate hardness, and can be machined to a high-precision finished surface.
It is used in a wide range of applications from general industry to semiconductors and aerospace as a filter, adsorption media, and insulation material.
Porous carbon has the following properties:
Fluid Permeability
The fluid permeability is adjusted. It is also used for restricting gas bearings.
Heat-resistant
Its strength remains unchanged even in high temperature environments, and it will not crack even when subjected to thermal shock.
Low thermal expansion
There is little distortion due to temperature changes, and it can be used at any temperature and in any environment.
chemical resistance
It has the excellent corrosion resistance inherent to carbon, even being resistant to hydrofluoric acid.
low density
Its low density allows for lightweight construction.
Uniformity
It has uniform porosity and pore size across the entire surface, allowing fluid to permeate uniformly from the entire surface.
Isotropic
The fluid is distributed equally throughout the porous medium.
Processability
Fine processing and precision finishing are also possible. Parts of any shape can be designed.
Electrical characteristics
Since it is a conductor, it does not become charged.
High purity
It is completely sintered and contains no impurities other than carbon.

Features of our porous carbon
Our porous carbon is a self-sintering carbon.
Self-sintering carbon has a strong skeletal strength because the raw material particles themselves have a strong bonding force. It maintains high strength even in porous bodies with a high porosity.
In addition, there is little shedding of the structure due to friction or impact, and dust generation is low. Furthermore, with our know-how, the porosity and pore size can be freely controlled, and by controlling the macro pore size of the carbon, the amount of fluid passing through can be adjusted.
We can customize the material, shape, and additional processing according to customer requests.
We perform additional processing such as boring, notching, countersinking, slotted holes, spherical surfaces, etc. We also manufacture products that combine metal or resin with adhesives, shrink fittings, etc.

It can be used as is for precision machinery parts, jigs, molds, insulation materials, heat-resistant materials, air diffusers, restrictors, safety devices, etc.
