Case study (PCP (Porous Carbon Products))
Film maker
Your situation
Wrinkles and scratches occur on the film that is the workpiece, causing frequent stoppages in operation.
At a film manufacturer's plant, production was frequently halted due to wrinkles and scratches in the process of transporting film products using contact rolls.
Our Initiatives
In addition to proposing air bearing rolls (floating transport rolls), we will support you in setting conditions by utilizing Tanken's know-how.
After detailed consultation with the customer, we proposed replacing the conveyor rolls with air bearing rolls. Air bearing rolls are made of porous carbon, and transport the film without contact by releasing air from the carbon, which is an effective measure against wrinkles and scratches.
Before the customer decided to introduce the system, we used our extensive experimental data and know-how to find the optimal conditions. Since the film floating characteristics are affected by many conditions, including the air supply pressure, we successfully set parameters for stable transport using the workpieces used in actual production in a demonstration experiment with the customer present.
Effect
Achieving significant cost reductions
Demonstration tests showed that wrinkles and scratches were reduced, and operation rates and yields improved.
As a result, we were able to achieve a significant reduction in costs.

Guest Reviews
Test runs in an environment similar to actual manufacturing lead to peace of mind
We were able to evaluate the product's performance using film that will be used in actual production through product rental and demo experiments, which gave us peace of mind when making our purchase.
