Product Summary
The simple tandem dry contact seal "Safety Barrier Seal" is made up of a double seal surface made of special carbon. This allows operation under dry conditions while maintaining low contact and surface pressure, and is a mechanical seal that does not require a reservoir tank.
When used as a secondary seal to the primary seal, it is used as a safety and environmental measure for pumps that handle hazardous fluids such as flammable or toxic fluids. In the event that the inboard seal fails and hazardous fluids leak, the Safety Barrier Seal acts as a back-up seal to limit leakage to the atmosphere.
