Stationary mechanical seal

We commercialized the Stationary mechanical seal in the 1970s for troubleshooting purposes.
We have made many improvements while expanding the scope of application, and today we have many achievements in various applications of processes such as petroleum refining and petrochemistry.

Features

The stuffing box accuracy of the mounting equipment, which is a feature of the static type, and the distortion caused by high temperature and high pressure are absorbed by the spring, maintain the squareness of the sliding surface and demonstrating high sealing performance.
In addition, since the spring is located on the atmospheric side, there is no clogging due to slurry, etc., good operability is achieved, and there is no wear on the shaft or sleeve due to the O-ring.
Stationary mechanical seal is a mechanical seal with a wide range of applications, which is effective for extending the life of the seal.

Slurry resistance

Since the spring does not come into contact with the liquid, the sealing property is maintained even with the slurry liquid.

Measures against aging equipment

It is effective as a countermeasure against aging because it is not affected by the distortion of the casing due to aging of the equipment.

Excellent heat resistance

Not affected by heat-induced casing distortion. In addition, the structure is such that the heat of the shaft is not directly transferred to the floating packing, and it has excellent heat resistance.

Excellent pressure resistance

It has excellent pressure resistance because it is not affected by the distortion of the casing due to pressure.

Supports high-speed conditions

Since the spring is on the stationary side and is not affected by centrifugal force, it adapts to high-speed rotation.

Excellent Quenching efficiency

Since the seal ring (driven ring) is located on the atmospheric side, it has better Quenching efficiency (cleanability) than the Rotary mechanical seal.By adopting our ABC ring, it will be more effective.

Stationary mechanical seal usage example

Slurry clogging prevention measures

  • Before remodeling, Rotary mechanical seal.There was a large amount of slurry in the liquid, which clogged the V-ring and spring, causing malfunction, and the seal life was as short as 2 to 3 months.No maintenance for more than 2 years after remodeling to a static seal.

Countermeasures against aging rotating equipment

  • Before remodeling, Rotary mechanical seal.Fourteen years have passed since the pump was installed, and the seals have been replaced every two years, but since then, the frequency of seal replacements has increased rapidly.Due to repeated aging and repair of the pump, the end face of the box was damaged, and as a result, the squareness was out of order, and the seal life was as short as 14 to 2 months.It has been remodeled into a Stationary mechanical seal that is not easily affected by aging and scratches on the end face of the stuffing box, achieving no maintenance for over a year.
  • In many cases, the general trouble factors of Rotary mechanical seal (clogging, improper squareness, malfunction, wear of packing and pins) have been solved by modifying the Stationary mechanical seal, which is also effective in extending the service life.Consider using a static canical seal that does not come into contact with the spring and is less affected by poor squareness.
